Meet Adam Chay.
I'm Adam Chay, the founder of Isekai Odyssey and a licensed Singapore tourist guide.
I lead private, story-led walking tours that help travellers understand Singapore through its neighbourhoods, food, heritage, faith, architecture and everyday life.
My journey
From tour operator and museum docent to Singapore tourist guide.
My journey in tourism began before I became a licensed guide. I previously worked as a tour operator and museum docent, experiences that taught me how much a good story can change the way someone sees a place.
After stepping away from tourism during the pandemic, I returned to the industry and completed an eight-month professional guiding programme in 2023. I became a licensed Singapore tourist guide in 2024.
Since then, I have led more than 100 private and group experiences for visitors from around the world.
How I guide
The best tours feel like conversations—not lectures.
I enjoy explaining the larger story behind the details people notice on the street. A building, religious practice, local dish or neighbourhood name may open the door to Singapore's history and multicultural identity.
My tours combine researched historical context with humour, personal anecdotes and observations about everyday life. I also leave room for questions and unexpected conversations, because curiosity often leads to the most memorable discoveries.
My role is not only to show you where to look, but to help you understand why it matters.
